AMS CI-Suite v1.28 Spring Release 2024: Key Features and Improvements

The new AMS CI-Suite v1.28 delivers numerous improvements and new features developed from customer feedback. Here are the key highlights of this spring release

Compatibility and Discontinuation

  • Windows Server 2019: Only supported for updates (not for new installations)
  • No longer compatible with local machine systems with CI-Suite v1.19

OPC-UA Adapter

  • Extended Connectivity: New OPC-UA adapter functionality for improved interoperability with third-party systems
  • Standardized Interface: Enables data exchange via the open OPC-UA protocol for seamless integration into heterogeneous production environments

Rebranding: AMS ZPoint-CI Operations → STIWA Shopfloor Control

  • New Brand Identity: To better align with marketing strategy, the application has been renamed to "STIWA Shopfloor Control"
  • Complete Feature Set: Contains all functions from previous versions, plus customer feedback
  • Complete Replacement: For new machines, using the AMS ZPoint-CI Client is no longer necessary

AMS Analysis-CI Improvements

  • Event-based Report Distribution:
    • "Order Change" Trigger: Reports are automatically sent after completion of an order
    • "Shift Change" Trigger: Reports are automatically sent after the end of a shift
  • Improved Trendviewer Usability:
    • Tooltip displays measurement series name (helpful when multiple series are displayed)
  • Display of alphanumeric values, e.g., for raw material batches or type variants
  • Dashboard Improvements:
    • Filter grouping for easier operation
    • Dashboard filters can also be used as input without explicit configuration

AMS ZPoint-CI Extensions

  • Flexible Quality Data:
    • Flexible end-of-line testing procedure for multiple types
    • Storage of flexible quality data without PLC program changes
  • Production During Central System Maintenance:
    • Production remains possible even when the central database is unreachable
    • Can be activated for individual machines or the entire plant via STIWA Shopfloor Control
    • Cache function stores data locally and synchronizes it once the connection is restored
  • Additional Improvements:
    • Updated DeltaLogic (AGLink) driver for more robust use of symbolic data blocks
    • LiveAnalysis with STIWA CI-Interface also when using CI3.1 instead of CI2.0
    • Access to packed parts from other machines with internal M2M

AMS FIT-CI Optimizations

  • Performance and Usability Improvements:
    • Migration to 64-bit for sufficient memory reserves
    • Drastically reduced copy time for systems with large PLC coupling areas
    • Check for required ServicePacks in the target database
    • Extensions for wildcards with new configuration checks
    • Check-in comments for faster troubleshooting
